A native of Southeast Asia. Mangosteen is one of the most admired tropical fruit and is known widely as the Queen of Fruits for its beautiful purple-blue pericarp and delicious flavor. The fruit is as the size of a small orange, round or flattened on the ends. Its flavor is described as a mixture between lychee, peache, strawberry, and pineapple
Mangosteen can be eaten fresh by peeling the outer skin and eating the wedges of fruit inside raw. Another way to consume mangosteen is to use it as an ingredient for other dishes, such as dessert, or turn it into different mangosteen-based products, including supplements and juices
